First of all, a warm welcome to my website! \u00a0<\/p>\n

I am an author, speaker, former freelance journalist and former professor of journalism at the Institut d\u2019Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and longtime resident of France where I live with my French husband, Philippe, in the trendy east of Paris . Our garden apartment boasts a tiny lawn just big enough to mow and a fig tree that has miraculously defied both Paris weather and pollution. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0My nonfiction books are the bestselling\u00a0French Toast:\u00a0An American in Paris\u00a0Celebrates the Maddening Mysteries of the French;<\/em><\/a>\u00a0French Fried: The Culinary Capers of an American in Paris;<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and Joie de Vivre: Secrets of Wining, Dining and Romancing Like the French<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0 My latest work, Final Transgression: One Woman’s Tragic\u00a0<\/em>Destiny in War-torn France <\/i>is a novel based on a true story that took place in WW2 France.\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n

As a real\u00a0Parisienne\u00a0(I have now lived in France far longer than in the States), I love and regularly haunt caf\u00e9s in all parts of Paris. \u00a0Large portions of my novel were written in the caf\u00e9 shown in the picture above (Les Foudres, Place Martin Nadaud in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the famous P\u00e8re Lachaise cemetery and our apartment).\u00a0<\/p>\n
